Applications and trials

Applications

Online applications for IMP open at the end of November each year and remain open until the end of February of the following year.

Online applications are gathered to determine the try-out locations around the country. People can apply on the day of a try-out even if they have not applied online, but it is their responsibility to travel to the try-out location of their choice (travel costs to and from try-out locations is the responsibility of the applicant).

Try-out process

Trials include a 5km run for the men and 3km for the women, followed by an interview with the head coach.

IMP is not looking for the fastest runner. We are searching for inspirational Indigenous Australians who possess a strong purpose, determination, and commitment to changing their life and the lives of their communities.

We encourage all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island men and women aged 18-30 to apply. No running experience is necessary!

Applications will be available through the website and also promoted through social media, so set a reminder for November and make sure to apply!

For more information about the IMP squad, applications and try-outs, please contact IMP Head Coach, Adrian Dodson-Shaw – adrian.ds@imf.org.au or (02) 6162 4750.
