ABOUT #TIRF

The Thursday Island Running Festival was established in 2015 and has been held a number of times since then. #TIRF is a running event held on Thursday Island (TI) in the Torres Straits, Queensland.

 

The aim of TIRF is to increase the number of active and healthy community members. Exercise forms an integral part of being healthy and running is an excellent form of exercise, accessible to everyone, anywhere.

 

This years #TIRF events will comprise of:
10km Run
4km Kids Dash
2km Kids Dash
Team 10km Relay Run

 

All events will run through the Thursday Island community in the heart of the Torres Strait Islands. Starting and finishing at the iconic Mr. Turtle.

 

EVENT START TIMES:

 

FRIDAY 10TH DECEMBER 2021
2km Kids Dash (under 10 years) – 4pm START
4km Kids Dash (8 to 14 years) – 4:30pm START

 

SATURDAY 11TH DECEMBER 2021
10km Run – 6am START
10km Team Relay – 7am START

 

BIB COLLECTION / RACE EXPO – Friday 10th December 2021, 1pm – 6pm
Bibs can also be collected from the start 30 minutes prior to your event.
