We invite you to join people from across the country for a month of running or walking. Whether you are a walker, longtime runner, someone who discovered running this past year while navigating the pandemic, or yet to connect with running, you can join us from 1 to 30 November from wherever you are.
Set yourself a challenge to see how many kilometres you can clock up in one month and go conquer it!
Sign up to run, jog or walk with us this November.
Make a Difference on the Move!
Why not make every step count by fundraising as part of your November kilometre challenge.
Please help IMF continue to provide life-changing opportunities to many more young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and women.

What is the IMF Virtual Run?
The IMF Virtual Run is a fun run or walk that can be done anywhere, at any time and any distance throughout November. You will have 30 days to complete your challenge. Complete your goal distance in as many activities as you like during November.
Can anyone participate in the #IMFVirtualRun?
This is an event for everyone!
No matter where you are located you are invited to join us and participate in this virtual event.
In doing so, we ask that you please ensure you abide by the relevant State & Federal health guidelines, as advised for each State or Territory within Australia, or the relevant guidelines as advised for the respective jurisdiction of the country you reside – for those participating outside of Australia.
How much does it cost to register school groups?
A discounted fee is also available to school groups of 10 or more students. Email us to find out more.
What distances should I register for?
This virtual challenge suits every ability. You choose what distance you want to run or walk, and will then be able to complete the distance in one go or cumulatively during the month of November.
How do I track my activities?
Logging your November virtual run activities is optional. Everyone registered will receive a finisher’s medal.
If you would like to track and log your IMF Virtual Run activities we encourage you to use Strava.
What is STRAVA? And how does it work?
STRAVA is a free app that can be used on most mobile devices. STRAVA records your runs/walks and tracks your daily, weekly and monthly activities.
Participants are welcome to join the IMF Virtual Run Strava Club. A STRAVA Club event for the 2021 IMF Virtual Run will be created prior to November.
What if I can’t complete the whole distance?
No problems! Getting outdoors and having fun is the goal. You will still receive a finishers medal!
What should I tag on social media?
When will I receive my medal?
All medals will be posted to registered participants after the completion of the event. We aim to have all medals posted by mid December. However, there could be delays in postage due to COVID-19. There may be longer delays for international postage.
What does my entry fee and/or donation go towards?
Apart from covering the costs associated with #IMFVirtualRun, your entry fee and/or donation will go towards providing support to the core programs of Rob de Castella’s Indigenous Marathon Foundation across the country. The foundation needs funds to continue its critical work across Australia. Your support is hugely appreciated!
